Wayne Murphy Sensei Wayne's introduction to martial arts was at an early age through his father, John
Murphy Sensei, a Nanadan (7th degree black belt) in Shorinryu and a direct student of the late Grand
Master Eizo Shimabukuro. Joining the Okinawan Karate Club of Dallas in 1999, Wayne trained under the
guidance of Sensei Ilene Smoger in the techniques, principles, and classical kata of Okinawan Karate do. Through OKCD, Wayne had the opportunity to train with many
senior Yudansha simultaneously in both Shorinryu, as passed down by Grand Master Eizo Shimabukuro, and traditional techniques and
methods of the Shudokan as passed down by the late Walter Todd, Shibucho for the late Kanken Toyama.
Wayne earned his Shodan (1st degree black belt) in June 2001, awarded to him directly by Grand Master
Shimabukuro. Wayne has continued to advance in his training, currently holding the rank of Rokudan (6th
degree black belt) in both the Shorinryu and Shudokan traditions of Okinawan Karate-do.
Wayne has taught weekly youth and adult classes at the OKCD since 2002. Additionally, he founded the
Okinawan Karate Club of Lantana in 2008 and assisted Rajesh Chathapuram Sensei in establishing the
Okinawan Karate Club of Frisco in 2016. These two clubs specifically focus on training young Karateka
under the banner of Shote (Small Hands) Karate Club, emphasizing the essence of Okinawan Karate-do.
Constance An | コンスタンス・アン

Constance An
Sensei
joined OKCD in January 2001. Prior to joining, Constance had been a personal
trainer for many years. Constance received her Shodan (1st dan) in Shorin Ryu and Shudokan Karatedo
in March, 2005.
She currently holds the rank of Godan (5th dan) and an active instructor at the Okinawan
Karate Club of
Frisco, Texas. Having a mechanical engineering and fitness background, Constance
enjoys breaking down martial arts into physics principles for powerfully efficient movements.
Constance
has taught at several women’s self
-
defense seminars, including FearLessDallas, a non-profit resource
for women from foster care. Both her children also volunteer with her for FearLessDallas.

Rajesh Chathapuram Sensei
martial arts dream unfolded when he discovered OKCD in Farmers Branch,
TX, in 2003. Enthralled by the artistry of martial disciplines, he immersed himself in training under the
guidance of Ilene Smoger Sensei, finding inspiration in every instructor at OKCD.
In 2011, Rajesh earned his Shodan (1st dan) in Shorin Ryu Karate and
Shudokan Karate. Presently holding
the rank of Yondan
(4th dan), he continues to evolve as a martial artist.
In 2016, Sensei Rajesh, alongside
Sensei Wayne Murphy, co-founded Okinawan Karate Club of Frisco, where he holds the position of
Head
Sensei. His
passion for martial arts extends to sharing knowledge and mentoring young practitioners
through the SHOTE (small hands) youth program at Lantana dojo.
Keith Sandefer | キース・サンデファー

Keith Sandefer
Sensei’s
first introduction into martial arts began in 1983 with Sensei Takao Nakaya,
achieving the rank of 1st-KYU.
Unfortunately, after receiving this rank there was a pause in Keith’s
pursuit of martial arts.
Family, work, and travel took over most of his time
until finally in 2005 he
rediscovered his passion and started training at the Holtum School of Martial Arts in Plano, Texas.
Keith
was awarded his Shodan (1st dan) on December 2009 in Tae Kwon Do, but after receiving this rank he felt there
was something missing in his training.
He missed the traditional ways- the focus on technique, the
history, and the katas. He finally understood.
With this new found wisdom he made his way to the
Okinawan Karate School of Dallas in 2010, and has been there ever since.
Keith Sensei currently hold
the rank of Sandan (3rd Dan) in both Shorin Ryu and Shudokan Karate.
Noah Temer | ノア・テメル

Noah Temer Sensei
joined the Okinawan Karate Club of Lantana in 2011 at the age of five and has been
an active Karateka for the past 13 years. Noah Sensei earned the rank of Shodan (1st Dan) in both Shorin-Ryu and Shudokan Karate in 2022.
Noah currently holds the rank of Nidan (2nd Dan) in both Shorin Ryu and Shudokan Karate.
Shashank Chathapuram | シャシャンク・チャトプラム

Shashank Chathapuram Sensei
was introduced to martial arts when he was 4 years old, when he had
the opportunity to try
Tae Kwon Do in 2010. However, Shashank did not enjoy this training. In 2011, he
saw his dad, Rajesh Chathapuram Sensei, get his Shodan (1st degree) in Shorin Ryu and Shudokan
karate through the Okinawan Karate Club of Dallas. It was at that moment he knew
that he wanted to
follow in his father’s footsteps. This led to him joining Okinawan Karate Club of Lantana and training
under Sensei Wayne Murphy as well as his father Sensei Rajesh Chathapuram. During these past 1

years, Shashank has had the opportunity to work with various other Sensei within the Okinawan Karate
family as well.
Shashank was awarded his (1st Dan) in January 2022 and currently holds the rank of Nidan
(2nd Dan) in both Shorin Ryu and Shudokan Karate.
Mark Calimlim | マーク・キャリムリム

Mark Calimlim
Sensei
joined the Okinawan Karate Club of Frisco in 2017 at the age of 9 and has been an
active Karateka for the past 7 years. Prior to joining, Mark had no experience in martial arts, but quickly
grew to enjoy the discipline and focus. In addition to his karate
training Mark is an active member of the
Rick Reedy Marching Band and enjoys playing tennis and working out to maintain his fitness. Over the
past
7.5
years, Mark has had the opportunity to be trained by Sensei Rajesh Chathapuram, Sensei Keith
and Sensei
Constance as well other great instructors like Sensei Wayne Murphy.
Mark was awarded his Shodan (1st Dan) on January 27th, 2024 by Sensei Rajesh Chathapuram
in both Shorin Ryu and Shudokan Karate.
Sanjana Senthil | サンジャナ・センシル

Sanjana Senthil Sensei
first joined Okinawa Karate Club of Frisco in 2016 in 5th grade. Over the past
8 years Sanju has been learning Karate, she has had the wonderful opportunity to work with various Sensei in the
Okinawan Karate Dojo family.
In addition to Karate, Sanju is involved in weightlifting and basketball in
school. She also enjoys cooking, hanging out with her friends, and spending time with her family and dog.
Sanjana Sensei was awarded her (1st Dan) on January 27th, 2024 by Sensei Rajesh Chathapuram in both
Shorin-Ryu and Shudokan Karate.
Maximo Centeno-An | マクシモ・チェンテノアン

Maximo Centeno-An Sensei
joined the Okinawan Karate Club of Dallas in 2011 and transitioned to the
Okinawan Karate Club of Frisco in 2020. He has been a student instructor for 5 years. In addition to his
karate training, Maximo plays the violin. He has taught for FearLessDallas,
a womens foster care support program, in teaching womens self-defense.
Maximo Sensei was
awarded his Shodan (1st Dan) on January 27th, 2024 by Sensei Rajesh Chathapuram in both Shorin Ryu and
Shudokan Karate.

Sreeja Surisetti Sensei
joined the Okinawan Karate Club of Frisco in 2018 at the age of eleven and has
been a student for the past

years.
Throughout her karate journey, Sreeja has learned not just physical
techniques but valuable lessons in discipline, resilience, and leadershi
p. As a student leader volunteer
at the dojo, she enjoys mentoring younger students and fostering a sense of community.
Outside the
dojo, Sreeja works to balance academics and her passion as a classical dancer, applying discipline and
perseverance learned
through her training to other aspects of her life.

Sienna Centeno-An Sensei joined the Okinawan Club of Dallas in 2013 at

the Okinawan Karate Club of Frisco in 2021. She's been active in Karate for 11 years, under the guidance
of several Sensei. Outside of practicing karate, Sienna

enjoys creating art and exercising at the
gym. Her favorite part of karate is learning the application and bunkai of our katas.
